TWO men wearing motorcycle helmets held supermarket staff at knifepoint as they demanded cash from the tills.

The robbers raided the Sainsbury's store in Carden Avenue, Brighton, at 9.30pm on Saturday.

The pair entered the shop and told a staff member to hand over the money kept behind the counter. One of the men had a knife.

They snatched a small amount of cash before making off from the scene.

One staff member was left shaken but unhurt.

Sussex Police are now appealing for anyone with information on the incident to come forward as they try to track down the two crooks.

A force spokesman said: "They approached the store from the direction of Carden Crescent and after the offence they left travelling back in the direction of Carden Crescent."

Anyone who saw the incident, or has any information which could assist police with their investigation, is being urged to report this online or call 101 quoting serial 1432 of 07/11.
