POLICE have found the body of a missing woman from Eastbourne after a desperate search.
Fiona McKay had been missing for almost two months when officers discovered her body at an address in the town yesterday.
Sussex Police issued an appeal for help in finding the 51-year-old this week saying they were concerned for her welfare.
The force said she had last been spoken to on December 18 but had not been seen since November 23.
She was reported missing on January 2 and police urged people in Brighton, Southampton and Eastbourne, areas she was known to have links to, to contact them if they saw her.
But, today, Sussex Police confirmed that officers had found her body at a property in Eastbourne yesterday.
A spokesman said: "Fiona McKay, 51, who was reported missing from Eastbourne on January 2, has sadly been found deceased.
"Fiona was located on Tuesday, January 12, at an address in Eastbourne and next of kin have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and the Coroner's Officer is continuing enquiries. "
