POLICE are searching for a man suspected of posing as a council worker and stealing £100 in cash from an elderly man.

The disabled man answered the door to his home off Manor Road, Brighton, on February 18, to a person claiming to be a council official.

After chatting, he offered to do some shopping for the 79-year-old and the man gave him a banknote to pay for it.

But after he left, the elderly man discovered that £100 cash had been stolen from his home.
