A road has been closed by police due to a "serious collision".
The A284 at Arundel has been blocked off as emergency teams deal with the crash.
A police car has been parked across the road to stop drivers accessing the area and "police slow" signs have been erected.
A Chichester Police spokesman said: "The A284 at Whiteways (Takeaway Kiosk) in Arundel is currently closed for a serious road traffic collision. Please find another route."
An AA traffic report says the road has been closed since about 1.30pm, and traffic in the surrounding area is "coping well".
It states: "The road closed due to ac crash on the A284 Arundel Bypass both ways from the A29 (Whiteways Lodge Roundabout) to London Road.
"Traffic is coping well. The road was closed at about 1.30pm."
Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.
