A MAN was seriously injured when his car crashed into a parked vehicle and then into a telephone pole.
The man, from Hailsham, flipped his Land Rover on to its side in Horam near Heathfield last night.
Three fire engines alongside police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene to help assist.
The driver, who is 23-years-old, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.
The fire service was called to Maynards Green Road at midnight in order to free the driver from the vehicle.
A spokeswoman from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "There was one car that was in collision with a telegraph pole.
"We helped extricate one person from the car.
"Police and ambulance services were also alerted to the scene."
There were also two passengers in the car. Fortunately, they escaped from the crash unharmed.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Two vehicles were involved with a Land Rover hitting a telegraph pole.
"A person did suffer serious injures, but they were not life-threatening.
"He was rescued from the vehicle and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.
"Two male passengers in the Land Rover escaped uninjured."
