THE i360 is offering visitors a new unique view of Brighton and Sussex for its fifth anniversary - and it’s not for the faint-hearted.

The new tower top climb will allow visitors to view the region from an open-air platform 162 meters abve the ground, experiencing a bird's-eye view of Brighton and the South Coast.

Guests will fly in the viewing pod to 138 metres before stepping inside the tower itself and climbing a 30-metre ladder to emerge onto the platform at the very top, to spend time admiring the view and have souvenir photos taken.

It marks the first time visitors will have access to the internal workings of the structure, which opened on August 4 2016.

Chief operating officer of the i360 Ian Hart said: “The i360 Tower Top Climb provides everything that adventure experience seekers are looking for - the thrill of a 30-metre vertical ladder climb inside the tower, the view looking down inside the length of the tower, the fabulous open-air views from the very top of the tower, and the chance to hear from our engineers about how the i360 works.”

Up to six guests will climb the steep vertical ladders within the tower, accompanied by expert technicians who will describe how the tower and the pod operate, as well as open the hatch for guests to climb onto the outdoor platform.

“We think the i360 tower top climb will appeal to visitors who have already enjoyed the i360 viewing experience and want to return for the views from an even higher vantage point,” he added.

“I’m also confident this challenge will appeal to a new audience for our business, those that enjoy adrenaline-fuelled activities which give you the buzz of accomplishment and leave you feeling elated.

The first climb will take place next Thursday, with climbs taking place every Thursday to Saturday from 8am. Tickets will cost £99 per person, with a discount available for resident members.

Visitors are required to have a basic fitness level and be up for a challenge.
