Vegan burger restaurant Really Happy Chicken has been ranked one of the UK’s best burger joints.

The top 30 list of “badass burger joints” by stag party organiser StagWeb describes the restaurant on West Street as offering the “best burgers in Brighton”.

The annual list said of Really Happy Chicken: “Who said the best burgers had to be meat-filled? Really Happy Chicken are rubbing shoulders with the burger-making elite with their outrageous vegan bites which are every bit as good as their carnivorous counterparts.

“Plant-based, plenty of choice, and pretty damn delectable - what’s not to love?!”

Founder of Really Happy Chicken Owais Amiri said: “We are ecstatic to hear we’ve been named in the top 30 - especially as it’s not even been a full year since we opened.

“We’ve had to work extra hard operating in the middle of the pandemic restrictions and it’s nice to see our efforts being recognised by customers and industry players.

“Incidentally, it’s our first birthday in a couple of days - so this is fantastic news!”

Boasting a menu inspired by southern American fast food, the vegan fried chicken shop is the first such establishment in Brighton and adds to a growing number of vegan restaurants across the city in recent years.

The title of ‘best burgers in the South East’ was given to Love Thy Burger, based in Colchester, Ipswich and Southend. The family-run burger chain was praised for its staff, who StagWeb described as “extraordinarily passionate and immeasurably talented at burger creation.”

The burger joints were picked due to various factors including burgers themselves, range on offer, venue, value for money and the overall experience.
