A NEW plant-based food delivery service aims to encourage people to cut down on eating meat.

After a successful free meal trial in Crawley, Horsham and Brighton last year, Plant Infusion now hopes to expand nationwide.

The delivery service, based in Crawley, delivers fully vegan and plant-based meals.

It was set up by Jag Nayee and has received positive reviews from many customers.

Plant Fusion offers vegan cuisine from many different cultures such as South African, Lebanese, England, Ireland, China and India.

Sarah James, general manager at Plant Fusion, said: "We don't use anything that looks or tastes like meat. We don't believe that food has to taste like a meat to taste good.

"There are lots of benefits for switching to plant-based food as it can be healthier, and there are environmental benefits too.

"With people still wary of going out due to Covid-19, we can help by sending them full meals to their home. They might just want to eat from the comfort of their own home without cooking."

Plant Infusion believes that people are thinking about trying to eat more healthily and becoming vegan and vegetarian can help.

Andrea Dance, marketing assistant at Plant Fusion, said: "We think it has gone so well because it is still really new to the market and that all of our ingredients are organic.

"The meals we sell are made fresh and delivered on the same day and that gives us an advantage as there aren't a lot of people doing it the same as us.

"There is a push for companies to really think about what people would like and spend time improving vegan food, and we are a part of that."

The business is also attending vegan markets in Brighton and Horsham on Sunday, and it hopes to raise awareness of the service it can provide.

"We just want to let people know we are here and we are new.

"We want to build connections with customers to see what we can do better, and it is not about making profits."
