KATIE Price has bought a second guard dog to make her home "safer" after an alleged assault left her bruised, it has been reported.

The former glamour model, who was born in Brighton, sustained a facial injury during the incident in Little Canfield, Essex, on August 23.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and held in custody before being released on bail following the altercation.

Now, after revealing the suspected attack left her bruised, Katie has stepped up security by investing in a new guard dog called Okra.

A source told The Sun: "Katie has bought another black German Shepherd, the same breed as her existing security dog, Blade.

"He's being trained to a second elite level - making him even better trained than a police dog.

"Having both Blade and her new dog Okra around will help make Katie's home feel safer after it was burgled and she was assaulted."

Katie first bought Blade in 2019 after being held at gunpoint in South Africa in a carjacking.

It comes after the mum of five and her husband-to-be Carl Woods were pictured together for the first time since the alleged assault at her Sussex "Mucky Mansion".

Since the incident. Katie has since been subjected to cruel comments underneath her most recent Instagram post, with some suggesting the incident was a publicity stunt.

It was also reported that the case against the former glamour model's alleged attacker could be dropped as she "cannot face" going to trial.

The case could be dropped as the 43-year-old believes she is “too mentally fragile” to be questioned over the alleged attack.

A friend of Katie told The Sun: "This is a nightmare situation for Katie.

“She absolutely stands by her account of events of that night given to police, but upon reflection isn’t sure she’s mentally strong enough to go through yet another court appearance.

Katie claimed that she had been watching TV when the alleged attack happened – and insisted it was “unprovoked”, OK! Magazine reports.

Essex Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

“We are in regular contact with the victim and are continuing to support her,” a spokesman said.
