TRIBUTES have been paid to a troubled young musician who died suddenly.

Friends and family of Adam Scoble spoke of their grief following his death, with a fundraiser for a memorial bench in the city already hitting its target.

The 29-year-old aspiring musician, who was known for his distinctive face tattoos, died last Thursday.

He had previously been caught up in run-ins with the law, as reported in The Argus.

In a tribute on Facebook, his sister Julia Abbott said that her life “has become a little less brighter without you in it.”

She said: “You were always there for me and we shared so much together. I will never forget our childhood memories, our crazy teenage years and becoming adults together.

“Our family is a little bit smaller but our love for you will never change and will always continuously grow.”

A fundraiser to have a memorial bench dedicated to Adam in Hove Park has surpassed its goal of £1,100, with almost £1,700 donated since a GoFundMe was set up last week.

In an update on the fundraiser, organiser of the fundraiser Beau Manston said that, while the bench will take longer time than usual due to the pandemic, “I have been assured that we are on the waiting list and it will happen”.

Donations above their fundraising target will go to Adam’s family to help them with funeral costs.

After donating to the fundraiser, Diane Abbott thanked the people who have “generously contributed to this memorial to remember him”.

She said: “Adam would have loved the idea of a bench in Hove Park, where I know he had so many fond memories of times past and all the people he spent time there with.”

Adam previously admitted possession of cannabis and a taser in 2019 and was ordered to complete nine months of drug dependency treatment and put under curfew.

And last year, three men were found guilty last year of kidnapping Adam, after he was struck by a brick and claimed to have been threatened with knives and a bottle of Lucozade which he believed could have contained a corrosive substance.
