AN INQUEST is to open today into the death of a 19-year-old Canadian teen whose British boyfriend is accused of her murder.

Ashley Wadsworth was found dead at a block of flats at around 4pm last Tuesday, February 1.

She flew over to England from Canada last November to meet her boyfriend, Jack Sepple.

The couple had visited a number of tourist hotspots, including a trip to Rye near Hastings, before she died.

Today, a coroner will open an inquest into the teen's death at Essex Coroner's Court.

Sepple, 23, of Chelmsford, has been charged with murder.

Sepple is due to enter a plea at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 7.

A provisional trial date has been set for September 5.

Paying tribute, great aunt Tova Wadsworth said that Ashley was on the "trip of a lifetime" after arriving in the UK from her home in Vernon, British Columbia last November.

However, she was found dead at a property in Chelmsford.

Tova said: "Ashley was a beautiful young lady and full of love and kindness for all in her life.

"This was a trip of a lifetime... Nothing of this makes any sense. Her family is heartbroken and struggles to understand."
