If you have been considering bringing a new cat into your home, perhaps you could offer a new start to one of these five fur-balls.

They are all currently being cared for by City Cat Shelter. The charity homes approximately 250 unwanted cats per year and is entirely self-funded, run by voluntary donation and their volunteers.

If you aren’t in a position to adopt a cat right now, you could still help support City Cat Shelter by making a donation.

But if you are on the look-out for someone to curl up on the sofa with, here are five cats who would love to find their perfect match.

Buckley

Colour: Black and white
Sex: Male

Buckley is very handsome and loving.

He was found as a stray, and although he had a bumpy start, he has since settled extremely well.

He loves human company and has blossomed into a very affectionate boy, freely giving kisses, headbutts and will follow you around for a fuss.

Buckley has taken offence to a few male cats, though he gets on with others. For this reason, he should probably go to a home as the only pet.

Buckley is on a sensitive diet, which luckily, he adores. He should remain on sensitive food in his new home and is suited to somewhere with adults only or grown-up children.

Gypsy is aged around one year old and is a temperamental little lady and a classic naughty tortie.

She will have a good stroke when she feels like it but is headstrong and will let you know when she’s had enough.

She does however love her food, so this is a good opportunity for bonding.

Gypsy will require an experienced cat owner with no children or other pets in the home.

Colour: Black and white
Sex: Male

Matty is three years old and was a long-term stray.

He has come on leaps and bounds since being at the shelter and now enjoys being stroked, though is still prone to giving a whack when he wants to tell you off.

It doesn’t hurt though - he doesn't put his claws out as he isn’t really being aggressive.

He will need a calm and experienced cat owner who will be patient and work with him and will appreciate his boundaries.

Matty is not suited to having children or other pets in his new home.
