AN AMERICAN chicken restaurant will open its first outlet in Sussex next month.

Slim Chickens, which specialises in chicken strips, wings and sandwiches, will open a branch in the centre of Brighton in Queens Road and promises to bring Southern American hospitality with its service.

A spokesman for the chain said: “We’re super excited to be opening up in the seaside resort of Brighton and continuing our expansion in the south, along with our current stores of Bournemouth and Southampton.”

The company prides itself on its hospitality and service, promising a smile and a greeting at the front door.

“It’s that Southern customer service from America - if you’re going out now and you’re having a meal, you need to enjoy the food but you need the service to go with it as well,” the spokesman said.

He added that the restaurant aims to cater for everyone, ranging from families and grandparents to young professionals and students, with food cooked fresh to order.

He said: “We’re using high quality and fresh ingredients, which is something we champion with our buttermilk tenders - our signature dish, along with our wings, shakes and sandwiches.”

Along with the range of chicken dishes, the restaurant offers 14 different dipping sauces, from blue cheese and cayenne ranch to Korean barbecue and sriracha garlic.

Slim Chickens is among one of the fastest-growing chicken restaurants in the UK, with their Brighton restaurant being the 19th in the country - set to open on May 12.

After first opening its doors in Kent in 2020, the company aims to eventually have a restaurant in every major city in the UK.

The news comes just weeks after the opening of another American restaurant chain in Brighton, with the city’s first Wendy’s opening in Western Road.
