POLICE have revealed the number of people arrested over the bank holiday weekend.

Among the 33 people arrested in Brighton and Hove, offences included actual bodily harm (ABH), common assault, drink driving, criminal damage and drunk and disorderly.

“Public reporting is vital to our work and is an important part of successfully getting justice done,” a police spokesman said.

“Please continue to call in should you witness, have information about or become a victim of crime either via 101 or by using our online form.

“Please dial 999 in an emergency.”

Across Horsham and Worthing, a further 30 arrests were made.

Adur and Worthing Police said offences included an assault on an emergency worker, ABH, wasting police time, affray, assault, criminal damage, drink and drug driving, failing to stop after a road accident and drunk and disorderly in a public place.

In comparison, Sussex Police made more 100 arrests over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

Arrests were made for offences including actual bodily harm, assault on an emergency worker, possession of an offensive weapon, robbery, stalking, drug driving and more.

In Mid Sussex alone, a total of 45 arrests were made.

In a statement released by Mid Sussex Police, a spokeswoman said: “Our officers and custody centre were busy over the Easter weekend with 45 arrests being made across the Crawley and Mid Sussex district policing teams.”

In the Horsham district, there were 24 arrests over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

And in the Arun and Chichester district, police received 149 emergency calls and 141 priority calls over the four-day bank holiday.

A total of 34 arrests were made by officers for a variety of offences including ABH, grievous bodily harm, driving under the influence of drink and drugs, burglary, theft, assault on an emergency worker and theft from a motor vehicle.
