POLICE have conducted high visibility patrols after reports of intruders entering gardens and driveways.

Officers from Eastbourne Police have stepped up their presence in Polegate after concerns about suspicious activity.

A spokesman said: "Following reports on social media of suspect vehicles and individuals entering people's gardens and driveways, officers have been out on high visibility patrols in and around Polegate keeping an eye out for any offenders and offences.

“If you have been victim of theft or burglary, please continue to report it at the time to 101 or online. If something has already happened, always call 999 in an emergency or crime in action.

“A library of crime prevention advice to help protect your home from crime can be found on our Sussex Police website.”

Earlier this week, police increased patrols near Bersted and Barnham railway stations amid continued antisocial behaviour.
