AN UPDATE has been issued after a car crashed into the front of a train station over the weekend.
British Transport Police say that the man who crashed his car into Hove railway station on Saturday, June 25, was not under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Officers were called to the incident at 8.36am and breathalysed the driver, who blew zero.
A spokeswoman for BTP said: “Thankfully, the driver didn’t sustain any injuries.
“As is routine, he was breathalysed at the scene and blew zero.
“The station was closed for a short time to allow the vehicle to be recovered, and insurance details were exchanged.”
Pictures taken at the scene show the front of the Honda convertible completely destroyed.
Its bonnet has been crumpled and the front bumper has been detached from the body of the car.
The vehicle collided with a metal railing at the entrance of the station ticket office.
There is damage to the brickwork surrounding the doors to the building and the steps.
