POLICE have carried out foot patrols in a park amid ongoing antisocial behaviour.

Officers from Arun Police have stepped up their presence in and around Linden Park in Littlehampton in an attempt to combat the issue.

Police said the targeted patrols follow reports of antisocial behaviour and fires in the park over the last few days.

“Police Constable Carpenter and the team have spent time on foot patrol in Linden Park and the surrounding area following reports of antisocial behaviour and fires in the park,” an Arun police spokeswoman said.

“It was great to speak with several local residents who discussed their concerns with us.

“We always appreciate a hello when you see us on our patrols.

“Please continue to report any concerns that you have to us in person or through our online reporting system.”

Last week, officers from Brighton and Hove Police carried out patrols in Preston Park rock gardens in an attempt to combat ongoing antisocial behaviour.

“One young person was in the wrong place for them, but the very right time for us - they had their cannabis seized,” a police spokesman said.

Meanwhile, officers from Arun Police have recently carried out foot patrols in Bognor town centre amid antisocial behaviour.
