CANADIAN coffee chain Tim Hortons has welcomed customers to its first restaurant in Sussex.

The new restaurant and drive-through at Chichester Retail Park gave away free breakfasts to 100 people on its opening day Thursday.

The chain offers freshly baked doughnuts, meals and its famous coffee from 6am until midnight seven days a week.

Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons in the UK, said: “Due to popular demand from fans, we are over the moon to be making our mark on the South Coast, bringing our first-class offering to the local community in Chichester.

“This is our first restaurant in Sussex, so we cannot wait for guests to try our delicious offering.”

As part of the opening celebrations, customers had the chance to enjoy a series of weekly promotions at the restaurant, as well as getting their hands on some of the brand’s best-selling items, including Timbits, Iced Capps and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

Founded in 1964 in Ontario, Tim Hortons has some 70 restaurants across the country.
