Tributes have poured in after an award-winning magic shop announced its closure.

Oliver’s Brighton, a magic shop inspired by Harry Potter in Trafalgar Street, will close when stock runs out.

Oliver Dall, owner and founder, announced the news on Facebook.

Since then, tributes have flooded in with the post gaining hundreds of likes and comments.

Kelly Haigh, from Brighton, said: “Sad times, you’ve created something very special and that’s something to be very proud of. My daughter loved visiting your shop and I’ll have to try and squeeze in one more visit very soon.”

Sue Allen, from Newhaven, said: “Good luck in your new venture. Our family will have to pop in again before you close. We will miss you greatly, we've had so many happy moments visiting you over the years.”

Oliver announced that he will be closing the store to devote all his time to his new venture, an alcoholic spirit brand called Wizard’s Gold.

Wizard’s Gold, an all-natural Madagascan vanilla spirit infused with 23K gold, promises to be “mouth-watering, golden and certainly not boring”.

Oliver thanked fans for the tributes, and said he is “absolutely overwhelmed” by the quantity of messages.

He said: “I am so thankful for anyone that is reacting in a positive way. It has been a hard decision but I know in my heart of hearts I need to do this to give Wizard’s Gold 100 per cent.

“Thank you everyone, you have made this wizard very grateful.”

One fan all the way from Canada left a message.

Sofi Reyes said: “As someone way over here in Canada I am selfishly once again a little bit heartbroken that I won't get to check going to your wonderful magical shop off of my bucket list.

“But all the same hope you very much enjoy this new path.”

Oliver launched his spirit brand earlier this year and said he wants it to become a household name.

He said: “I want to end on a positive note rather than letting Oliver’s fizzle out.”

Oliver will turn the shop floor into office space for his new company and will be converting the upstairs into an Airbnb.

“I want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to anyone who has supported me over the last five years,” Oliver said.
