The lead cast has been announced for the theatre performance for one of Peter James’s crime novels.
The UK tour for Wish You Were Dead, which was published in May last year, opens at the Theatre Royal in New Road, Brighton, in March next year.
George Rainsford will star as main character DS Roy Grace, Giovanna Fletcher will be playing Cleo Morey, Clive Mantle will play Curtis and Leon Stewart will be playing DS Glenn Branson.
Best-selling writer Peter's series of crime novels have been adapted to the big screen with ITV’s Grace and this will be the sixth stage adaptation.
Peter, who is from Brighton, said: “I am beyond thrilled with the wonderful star cast that we have assembled for the world stage premiere of Wish You Were Dead.
“I love the fact that so many people create their own image of my characters but for me, George, Giovanna and Clive are all inspired interpretations of how I see Roy Grace, Cleo and Curtis and I am equally thrilled that Leon is returning to play Branson again.
“It is going to be very exciting to work with this great group of actors and I can’t wait for them to give audiences around the country a thrilling, fun and hugely entertaining night at the theatre.”
The show will be at the Theatre Royal from Monday, March 20, to Saturday, March 25.

“Getting to play Roy Grace, his most renowned detective creation, will be a huge honour. I am excited to meet audiences from all over the UK, and share with them some enthralling, edge-of-your-seat entertainment.”
Peter's previous novels brought to the stage include Looking Good Dead, The House On Cold Hill, Not Dead Enough, Dead Simple and The Perfect Murder.
The Argus went behind the scenes access for the latest filming of TV's Grace in Kemp Town last week and spoke with Alexander Cobb who plays Argus reporter Kevin Spinella.
The theatre show is being produced by Josh Andrews, Peter James and writer Shaun McKenna.
