Firefighters have been attending a blaze in a residential street.

Crews from Eastbourne and Seaford attended the fire in St John’s Road, Eastbourne at 7.15am this morning.

Firefighters were still in attendance just after 9am this morning and the road remained closed.

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service added: “Crews used one in seven foam to extinguish the fire.”

The exact nature of the fire is unclear.

The road appears to have now reopened.
