An RNLI team on a training exercise saved a dog stranded on a river bank.
Littlehampton RNLI were training in Littlehampton this morning when they noticed the animal.
A spokesman said: “Today’s training exercise in Littlehampton Harbour turned into a shout for our volunteer crew.

“They reunited a dog, who had ventured on to the shingle bank at the mouth of the river, with its owners.”
The charity is urging people to keep dogs safe on walks by ensuring they are on a lead near cliff edges and fast flowing rivers.
It advised people not go in after dogs that get stuck in the mud or water but instead to call the coastguard for help.
