The council has paid tribute to a councillor who died from cancer on the weekend.
Dr Robert McIntosh, Labour councillor for Rottingdean Coastal, died on Saturday aged 72.
He was elected as a councillor in a by-election last year, winning by almost 90 votes.
Soon after his victory, Cllr McIntosh revealed he had been diagnosed with bowel cancer after a routine screening.
A Brighton and Hove Council spokesman said: “It is with much sadness that the council has learnt of the death of Councillor Dr Robert McIntosh.
