A popular beach café is looking to expand further with plans for a fourth site currently in the works.

Perch has proved a roaring success after opening its first site on Lancing Beach and reached new heights after opening eateries in Shoreham and Worthing.

Now, the group wants to aim even higher with a fourth site located for the next iteration of the growing chain.

After success across Sussex, Perch is now looking to renovate the toilet block on Beach Green in Shoreham. The group previously bid to renovate the site in 2016 but are now back for a second crack after the recent owners became no longer involved in the project.

A spokeswoman for Perch said: “In 2016, we threw our hat into the ring to develop the unsightly large toilet block on the Beach Green on Shoreham Beach into a new Perch site. We held lively and productive discussions with residents to understand their hopes and concerns for the site, and some exciting ideas were born.

“Although we have a fuller idea of what we think would work so much time has passed and the world has changed hand in hand with lifestyles and priorities.”

Perch believe that the Shoreham site has many parallels with their first spot in Lancing and are looking to create a “relaxed, friendly café that works in harmony with the surroundings and residents”.

The café group first opened in 2015 before new sites in Princes Park, Eastbourne, in 2020 and Worthing Pier in 2022.

Customers can expect a range of food and drinks including burgers and sandwiches as well as seafood specials.

Dishes included on the current menu include a kilogram serving of mussels as well as vegan fish and chips made out of tofu and nori.

Ahead of the potential new West Sussex opening, Perch will be holding consultations with the public to ensure that local residents are involved in the process.

Perch have organised a consultation event at the Harbour Club near Shoreham Beach on May 10 at 2pm and at 8pm.
