Emergency services have dealt with a fire which broke out in the roof of a holiday park earlier today.
Firefighters from across East Sussex were called to the scene of the fire in Pontins in Camber Sands which broke out just after 3pm today.
Crews tackled the blaze using hose reels with the incident now said to be “under control”. The fire is believed to be accidental.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been called to a roof fire in the main building of Pontins, Camber Sands.

“Firefighters from Rye, Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill were called out at 15:19 on 03/05/2023 to reports of a fire.
“Crews used a hose reel jet to fight the fire. There are no reports of casualties.
“Police and ambulance were also in attendance. The cause is being treated as accidental.
“The situation is now under control and the incident has been left in the hands of building control. A reinspection is due to take place by local crews later this evening.”
Residents surrounding the holiday park were advised to close windows and doors while other members of the public were told to avoid the area.
