A shopfront window in the city centre was shattered during a late-night incident yesterday.

Police received reports that one of the large window panes at Nisbets catering supply store in London Road, Brighton, had been smashed at around 10pm on Wednesday (May 3).

Barriers were set up around the scene as fragments of glass laid strewn across the pavement.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “We received a call from a member of the public who had noticed the window had been damaged and was concerned that it would shatter and cause injury to passers-by.

“We advised them to contact the shop owners.”

Police say there is no evidence of a crime having been committed.
