Police have cordoned off a section of a residential street after a burned-out van was spotted by the side of the road.
The van was at the centre of the police cordon after nearby residents heard an “explosion” yesterday evening.
Police maintained a presence at the scene in Graham Road in Mile Oak.
One nearby resident reported hearing a loud “bang” before seeing blue flashing lights at around 11pm on Monday, June 20.

Another resident added: “When I woke up this morning there was a cordon at the top of Graham Road.
The van involved was believed to be taken away in the early hours of the morning at around 4am.
Sussex Police were approached for comment.
