A young Sussex-songstress has shared how playing two shows in the South East feels like a homecoming after supporting N Dubz on their national tour.

Erin Bloomer, 21, shot to fame after videos of her songs shared on TikTok garnered millions of views from young women who resonated with her lyrics.

Now, after her first chance to share a gig with the noughties group was cancelled, Erin took to the stage in Stanmer Park to support the group on Friday evening.

The singer, who grew up in Rye, said: “It was definitely a new experience. It was my second live show so I threw myself in the deep end.

"Brighton is such a fun area and it’s so colourful. I grew up in the countryside and while moving to London was the right move I’ll always be a country girl at heart.

“I was very excited to play. I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to working with people like N Dubz, it just makes me feel like I should give myself a little pat on the back.”

Erin started performing from a young age and said she had been “singing since I was born” as well as playing piano and guitar.

She shot to success after a video of her break-up song “F U and F Her Too” was shared on TikTok and went viral.

The singer spoke of how she has had young women messaging her about how they connect with her songs, adding: “That’s really cool. It gives people something to scream along to.”

In fact, Erin shared that her most recent song, “Wasted It On You”, was written about a fan’s experience after speaking to them on social media.

After first being booked to play with N Dubz in Derby, the biggest show of her career came crashing down after the band axed the show over a disagreement with their promoter.

However, after hearing how devastated Erin was, the band then booked her to play two homecoming shows: In Stanmer Park last week and in Margate.

Erin and N Dubz played in Brighton as part of the Brighton Valley Concert Series.
