Large sections of the fire-damaged Royal Albion’s facade have come crashing down as demolition continues.
Engineers from Dorton Group worked over the weekend on the Grade II* listed hotel on Brighton seafront.
This morning, a large section of the west wing was knocked down on the Pool Valley side.
Dozens of people watched as the wall was pushed in and crumbled.
Firefighters were called back to the hotel, which is in Grand Junction Road, on Friday morning after reports of a second fire in a “new section” of the building.
Crews smashed windows before spraying water into the first and third floors while an internal search by firefighters was carried out.
The cranes being used for demolition are spraying water to help reduce dust.
It comes as Brighton and Hove City Council confirmed asbestos was in the 200-year-old hotel’s textured ceiling coatings.

The council said there is “unlikely to be any significant risk of exposure to asbestos following this fire”.
Council leader Bella Sankey said last week: "My heartfelt thanks continue to go to everyone working hard to respond to the aftermath of this terrible fire.
"I'm sorry that the demolition and road closures will cause noise and travel disruption. This essential work needs to take place to ensure public safety."
