Visitors will get the chance to step back in time 800 years at a festival this weekend.
East Sussex Living History Festival at Michelham Priory House and Gardens in Hailsham invites families and history buffs to the event.
It promises to be a “memorable experience” with fun for everyone and children go free.
The living history encampments will bring history to life with traditional craftspeople at work.
Visitors will hear the clash of steel on steel from knights in combat and blacksmiths’ hammers and smell traditional food being cooked over open fires.
They can talk to professional historical re-enactors and every detail is designed to transport you to a different era.
“We’re really delighted to be hosting this festival in our historic house and gardens,” said Annie Wills, head of operations and commercial activity at Sussex Past.
“This is the chance to travel back through time and gain an authentic insight into how different life was over Michelham Priory’s long history.”
The event takes place daily from Saturday to Monday from 10.30am to 5pm.
Adult tickets are £13, it is £12 for seniors (65 and over) and children up to 17 and carers go free.
