A few lucky people caught a glimpse of the Victoria Fountain back in action last night ahead of its official unveiling next month.
The historic water feature on Brighton's Old Steine has now been fully restored and hoarding removed after months of meticulous work to repair it.
Onlookers watched on in awe as colourful lighting glistened in the cascading water during the overnight test run on Tuesday (September 26).
People shared their delight via social media, with one person saying: “It’s awesome. A lovely splash of colour. It makes Brighton so vibrant and a joy to behold.”

While another said: “I was there from a gig and saw the beautiful fountain on the way back to the station.”
But those who missed out last night will have to wait a little longer before they can see the fountain lit up, as the overnight trial run will not be repeated.
It is understood the official launch will be on October 12.
