A man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital after a crash between a car and a van on the A27.

The 66-year-old man, the driver of a silver Peugot involved in the crash, was taken to Southampton General Hospital after his car was involved in the crash with the Volkswagen van.

Sussex Police are now renewing a call for witnesses to the crash near Chichester and are asking for dashcam footage of the incident.

The driver of the Volkswagen Transporter van, a 27-year-old man from Brighton, was uninjured in the crash.

Sussex Police DS Rosie Newman said: “This was a serious collision and we are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“In particular, we would like anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicles either during or in the run up to the collision to come forward.”

The crash took place at around midday on Wednesday, December 13, and closed the westbound carriage of the A27 near Southbourne in Chichester for several hours.
