The A29 has reopened after being severely flooded.

Shripney Road, which runs between Bognor and Chichester, was closed on Monday due to flood damage.

The closure was in place from Lidsey Road to the Saltbox Roundabout, and was expected to last for "at least a few days".

However, the West Sussex County Council announced the road had reopened on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the council urged people at the time to "respect the road closure and follow the indicated diversion paths".

The road was closed just a day after a yellow weather warning was in place across the county for heavy rain, along with multiple flood alerts.
