A popular TV presenter enjoyed a meal at a family-run restaurant in the county.

Holly Willoughby, best known for her years presenting on This Morning, visited Buon Appetito in Burgess Hill last week for a family meal.

The restaurant, in London Road, said it was an "incredible opportunity" to serve her and that she was "kind, humble and funny".

Talking about Holly's visit, a team member at the restaurant - owned by Eugenio Saulle - said: "To think she dined at our restaurant means the world to us and we are grateful for this incredible opportunity to serve her and her lovely family.

"As you can see we were all pretty excited to see her doing so well.

"Holly’s family are regular customers of our restaurant. The funny thing is that she always knew about her family visiting the restaurant and on that day decided to try our food too.

"Our team didn’t know who she was, which actually worked in her favour so that she could have a peaceful meal.

"One of our chefs noticed her and we let her finish her meal and then we asked for a photo after she enjoyed an Italian feast.

"She was kind, humble and funny, and enjoyed the fact that we were a family owned restaurant."

Holly, 41, was said to have enjoyed a lasagna funghi e pancetta with a glass of pinot grigio rose wine.

The TV star, who is currently presenting ITV's Dancing On Ice, was born in Brighton in 1981 and grew up in Sussex.

She attended Burgess Hill Girls School and later studied at The College of Richard Collyer in Horsham.

Although she has since moved outside the county, her close-knit family, including her parents and her sister, are believed to still live in the area.
