A teenager was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car crash on a busy road.
Police are asking for witnesses after a car collided with a pedestrian on one of the main roads into Eastbourne yesterday evening.
Pictures from the scene show debris scattered across Eastbourne Road in Polegate, including a traffic light at a pedestrian crossing.
Specialist paramedics from the Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance also attended in the helicopter to treat a 15-year-old who suffered serious injuries. Police have not said if the teenager was the pedestrian or in the vehicle.
The teenager was taken to hospital where they remain.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "Emergency services were called to Eastbourne Road in Polegate yesterday at around 7pm to reports that a vehicle had collided with a pedestrian.

"A 15-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in their care at this time.
"Enquiries to understand the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
"If you witnessed what happened, have dash cam footage or CCTV of the incident, we urge you to make a report."
