A man led a woman to a nightclub toilet and then raped her.

Ibrahim Yusef, 21, met the woman on the dancefloor earlier in the night at Shooshh in Kings Road Arches, Brighton.

CCTV from the club showed the pair entering the toilet and the woman, who is in her 20s, leaving a short time later visibly distressed in the early hours of Friday September 24, 2021.

Bouncers detained Ibrahim and called the police who took him into custody.

The woman said Ibrahim had led her to the toilet and locked her in a toilet cubicle where he raped her.

He was charged with rape, assault by penetration and sexual assault. Ibrahim was 18 at the time of the attack.

On March 18, a jury at Lewes Crown Court sitting in Chichester found him guilty of all charges.

Ibrahim, of Abbots Way in Bromley, was sentenced to six years in prison at the same court yesterday. He will be on the sex offenders register for life.

Shooshh closed down last year and was replaced by Horizon nightclub last September.

Detective Constable Elaine Welsh said: “This woman was simply trying to enjoy a night out when she was attacked in the most horrific way.

“Ibrahim may now be behind bars, but this young woman must live with the effects of his crimes for the rest of her life. Despite her trauma, she has shown immense strength and bravery throughout this process.
