Several people were shot at from a moving car.
Sussex Police said that someone in a blue Vauxhall Vectra car was shooting members of the public with BB pellets between 7pm and 9pm in both Horsham and Billingshurst on Sunday.
Seven incidents were reported to police and an investigation is currently under way.
No injuries have been reported.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to a number of linked incidents of people being shot with BB gun pellets in Horsham and Billingshurst between 7pm and 9pm on Sunday (9 June).
"A total of seven incidents were reported to police of someone shooting members of the public from a blue Vauxhall Vectra. No injuries were reported.
"An investigation is ongoing to identify the vehicle and suspects involved.
"Witnesses or anyone with any information, CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting serial 1129 of 09/06."
