Danny Welbeck has “no doubt” he made the right call to join Albion.

Now team-mate Adam Lallana expects him to help the Seagulls start winning games and climbing the table.

Albion are 16th going into the international break after their 0-0 draw at home to Burnley.

But they now have a four-point gap immediately above them after winning once in their first eight matches.

Welbeck will use the international fortnight to follow Lallana’s example and further sharpen up after a promising full debut against the Clarets.

Lallana said: “He’s similar to myself. I think he’s really refreshed coming here. It’s such a great set-up.

“The manager is brilliant and I think there is no doubt in his mind he has made the right decision.

“He knows we are close to turning a corner and I think he can be a big part in making us do that.”

Lallana was among those who enjoyed Welbeck’s efforts against Burnley. He added: “He was brilliant. He offers us a completely different dynamic.”
