Graham Potter said Albion's FA Cup win at Newport County was “traumatic”.

The head coach was relieved to go through on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the third round.

But he admitted the job should have been done after 90 minutes.

Solly March put Albion ahead going in injury time.

They had good situations to potentially add a second in the remaining time and never looked in trouble until conceding a farcical own goal.

Potter said: “We should have won it, we should have seen that time out, in fairness, but we didn’t and that’s football.

JASON STEELE RELIVES PENALTY HEROICS

“There’s a bit of mistake on the goal and it can happen.

“I suppose we responded okay in extra-time but you are waiting for an opportunity.

“I thought we adapted as well as we could on a really difficult playing surface and we are through.”
