Robert Sanchez has a new goalkeeping coach to impress.

Jose Sambade, formerly of Deportivo La Coruna, Besiktas, Fulham and most recently Monaco, has joined Luis Enrique’s staff with the Spanish senior squad.

Sanchez’s form for Albion has reportedly alerted observers with Spain and England.

Continuing good performances in the Premier League could see him challenge Kepa, who kept an FA Cup clean sheet last night for Chelsea at Barnsley, to act as back-up to Spain’s current top two, David De Gea and Unai Simon.

An Argus source close to the Spain squad is unaware of any current interest.

He said: “There could be a gap for a third keeper but, for the moment, his name has not been heard.

“But, with a new goalkeeping coach, we don’t know whether he will have new plans.”

Sambade replaces long-serving Jose Manuel Ochotorena, who had been in the role since 2004.

IS THIS WHY ALBION SWITCHED OFF AT LEICESTER?
