Albion head coach Hope Powell admits her side cannot afford to relax despite making it three win in a row in the WSL yesterday afternoon as they beat Spurs 2-0 at The People’s Pension Stadium.

Both goals came in the second half with Inessa Kaagaman scoring a brace.

Albion beat Spurs thanks to brace from Dutch midfielder

The win means Albion remain seventh in the WSL, but more importantly they are now 12 points clear of Bristol City in 12th.

However, with only six games of the season to go Powell has insisted she will not let her side take their foot off the pedal.

She said: “I don’t really want us to relax, I don’t want anybody to think that we have won three and there you go, we are alright.

“We want to win the next one, be better at every game.

“So, I am just really pleased with the response after the game against Bristol and we have done well.

“But we don’t want to relax, we can relax when the season is over or you’ve retired, but there is no relaxing while I’m here.”

Kaagman's brace took her tally for the season to five.

But the Dutch midfielder, who was awarded the player of the match by Albion chief executive Paul Barber, believes they can go into their final six games of the season with no fear.

She said: “I think every game you need to go in fearless.

“But now we have had got few wins under out belt it is easier to be fearless.

“So the recent results have been good for us.”
