Albion are set to throw their two defensive kingpins into pre-season.

Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster are expected to return to action in the final friendly of the summer.

Both have sat out the 0-0 draw at Rangers and 3-1 win over Luton due to minor injuries.

But they have been training this week and indications are they will face LaLiga Santander Getafe at the Amex tomorrow (7pm).

It is the final run out before the Premier League opener at Burnley next Saturday.

Getafe are also treating this match as the last dress rehearsal, coming less than a week before their league opener at Valencia.

Webster said: “It will be different task against Getafe. They are in LaLiga and it will be a good experience for us to play against them.

“But we are all itching to get going and, with Burnley away, it doesn’t get much tougher for your first game.”

Leandro Trossard is also expected to feature after his return from Euro 2020 followed by a holiday.

But Danny Welbeck and Alexis Mac Allister miss out.

But key players are likely to be short of pre-season game time going into the Premier League opener at Burnley next Saturday.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “We are in the back end of a pandemic and things have opened up, yet you still have to deal with isolation, so we are not immune to that as a football club.

“We have to remember it is a long season and whilst we want to race to get everybody ready for Burnley it is important we get everyone right at the right speed so that we have a competitive squad for the whole of the season.”
