Tony Bloom says Albion are under no pressure to sign players - despite Yves Bissouma’s departure to Tottenham.

The Seagulls are being linked with several midfielders who could be seen as replacements for the Mali international.

But Bloom played down the need to buy and believes the squad remains the strongest Albion have ever had.

The club chairman said: “Yves is a big a loss. He has been tremendous for us for a few years.

“We knew that he was very likely to go so it’s no surprise there and we wish him all the very best at Tottenham.

“But we have got a very strong squad.

“It is the strongest squad we have ever had and we are looking forward to this season with hope and excitement."
