Leandro Trossard has been told the head coach’s door is always open.

The Belgium star will be left out of the matchday 20 to face Liverpool at the Amex today (3pm).

He was yesterday reported to be heading home for the weekend.

But Roberto De Zerbi says lines of communication remain open.

He has even hinted the pair's relationship could end up stronger if they can sort their current issue.

The Albion boss was speaking BEFORE Trossard's agent released a statement which appeared to be pushing for player and club to part ways.

De Zerbi yesterday confirmed Trossard had trained away from the rest of the squad since being left out of the FA Cup tie at Middlesbrough.

He put that down to a calf injury.

De Zerbi said: “He felt pain in his calf and he needed some days more to recover. We are 21, 22 players. We always work 11 against 11.

“My office is, was and will be open for all players and for all people.”

De Zerbi said "problems" such as that currently involving Trossard were fairly commonplace.

He added: "I think we're giving too much importance to something that is normally happening in the dressing rooms of every club in the world.

"I was a player and a lot of times I had these kinds of problems and maybe through this happening the relationship later on will be much stronger, but I'm working in this way.

"I don't know if before the World Cup, after the World Cup, something changed. I'd like him to come back as an important player to us, for sure, but it's not my responsibility.

"I can't help him. The person who can change the situation is Leo."
