Albion’s quest to sign Valentin Barco remains on course today.
The Seagulls are making progress towards completing a deal for the 19-year-old Boca Juniors star.
Discussions remained ongoing but no deal had been done as of midday today.
The potential transfer has been described as “a great opportunity” for both Barco and Albion by former Boca player Carlos Mac Allister, father of ex-Seagulls star Alexis.
The Argus has been told the deal is complex but that Albion "getting there" slowly.
Barco is in the Argentina under-23s squad for Olympic qualifiers later this month.
Albion are not expected to be busy in the market this month with several players returning from injury and Jack Hinshelwood having stepped up from the under-21s.
