Brighton’s best eateries have been praised for their “fantastic” dining options in the latest edition of a restaurant guide.

Etch, The Gingerman and Terre a Terre feature among the top 500 venues in the country according to the Hardens guide.

In total the city has eight venues in the list, exceeded only by London and Edinburgh, meaning it has made its mark as a place for great dining.

Peter Harden, co-founder of the guide, said: “With a total of eight restaurants in this year’s top 500 listing (and Etch climbing into the top 100) Brighton continues to squeeze an enormous amount of culinary talent into what is a relatively small city, making it a go-to destination for those looking to eat well for what are often much more reasonable prices than many of London’s offerings.”

Etch, run in Hove by MasterChef: The Professionals winner Steven Edwards, climbed to number 35 in the 2023 guide.
