A TWO-TIME open heart surgery patient will hold a charity comedy night on September 24.

David Blood, 41, is staging the annual event for the third time to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

The Brighton businessman and stand-up comic first went under the knife as a toddler to repair a hole in his heart.

Two years ago he was operated on again after one of his heart valves began to narrow.

He said: “After the second operation I decided it was time to give something back.

“I started this event in 2012 and it has got bigger and bigger, this year we have the best line up yet.”

Starting at 8pm, comedians Angela Barnes, Rudi Lickwood, Sean McLoughlin and Gerry Kyei will entertain the crowd.

All money raised will go to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Mr Blood, who will MC the night, said: “It’s a great charity and all the money will go to the BHF locally.”

Tickets cost £13 and are available from www.komedia.co.uk/brighton.
