In Brief, The Blues Brothers

May 9, 2001 12:40: If you are a Madonna fan and have not been lucky enough to buy, or afford, tickets for her gigs, then you can enjoy a great Madonna tribute act at The Courtyard, Airport House, Purley Way, Croydon, on May 25.

Who's that girl in the Madonna role? It's Louise Kenny, who mimics all aspects of Madonna's career phases, and up-to-date numbers include Music complete with an Ali G double.

Louise has had replica costumes made to authenticate her performance, so if you can't get to see the real thing, this show comes pretty close.

Other Kabaret acts in May include the Briefcase Blues Brothers (pictured) in action on Friday, May 11.

On Saturday, May 12 enjoy soul in the style of Luther Vandross with Harry Cambridge.

Anne Shirley presents Diana Ross, queen of soul on Friday, May 18, while sexy thing Kennie Simon entertains as Errol Brown on Saturday, May 19.

And Beatlemania hits town at The Courtyard on Saturday, May 26.

The Courtyard is licensed until late and there is free parking for 300 cars. Dress code is smart casual. To book and for more information call 020 8781 1934.

And ladies take note. The Courtyard is offering a special new Friday night rate from May 1. A £4 discount - whether in groups or with a partner - will bring the price of a three-course meal and dancing til late down to £25.95 (normal price £29.95).
