The Argus: Download of the Week
The Argus: Holy Vessels

Holy Vessels

From: Brighton

Profile: South Coast psychedelicists Holy Vessels first got together in 2009 to play some roots-flavoured rock and roll.

And it’s a testament to their sound that they have already managed to play slots at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Lounge On The Farm and Playgroup – as well as support slots for Cloud Control and The Maccabees.

They are also regular guests on the London and Brighton legs of cult indie label Communion’s live nights, having featured in last year’s River Rat Park Tour.

Last year the band spent two weeks in a lambing shed with former Del Amitri guitarist Iain Harvie, who has produced their debut album, Last Orders At The Marshall Arms, due for release in October.

Prior to that the band have been releasing a series of singles – the first being this week’s Download, which was out on July 2. Look out for their next single Queen Of Alimony later this month.
