AFTER weeks of nominating and voting we can finally reveal the most attractive man and woman in Sussex, chosen by readers of The Argus.

After counting and recounting, we can announce that the Most Attractive Woman in Sussex is Chelsey Watts and the Most Attractive Man in Sussex is Christopher Bennett.

In a dagger to the heart of single men across the county, Chelsey’s Facebook profile changed from single to “in a relationship” on Monday morning.

The administrative assistant at The Practice Plc has hooked up with a fellow competition entry Harry Errey but sadly for the pair they were not crowned king and queen together.

Instead, the gong for the most attractive male in the county goes to Christopher after he was nominated by his friend Edd Barclay.

We were inundated with more than 20,000 votes after presenting readers with 296 entries.

Voting opened last month and closed at midnight on Monday.

Our winners will win luxury treatments from two of Brighton’s most popular beauty businesses.

The team at Cove Hair Brighton at the Hilton Hotel will cut, blow dry and style the hair of our most beautiful woman and dashing man four times over the course of 2016.

On top of that, there will be a champagne reception to welcome our winners to The Treatment Rooms in New Road, Brighton, where they will each receive a luxury facial and massage and a gift bag of skincare products.

The competition has sparked widespread discussion on TheArgus.co.uk’s comments section as well as setting the airwaves abuzz at Juice 107.2.

The radio station’s breakfast host Hanna Neter and Drive’s Guy Lloyd were leading campaigns to get their respective entries crowned winners but to no avail.

Hannah was trying to rake in votes for her husband Richard Campbell, 31, while Guy was rooting for his good friend Phil Lucas to take the glory.

Richard had a late surge in votes which took him into second place in the male competition.

We can also reveal the female runner up in the competition was Abbie Harman, a former student of Blatchington Mill School.
